Handler Fishing Supply Assists Rendezvous Fishing Charters During Kids Fishing Clinic In Brevard.

Add the love of fishing and a heart for the community to an entrepreneurial spirit to make the likes of Shellie Sevor and Adrian Martinez. Both are local owner-operators in Brevard County’s recreational fishing industry.
Shellie Sevor, of Rendezvous Fishing Charters- a charter boat in Port Canaveral, and Adrian Martinez, of Handler Fishing Supply- a full service fishing tackle supplier in the Port, taught a kid’s fishing clinic, hosted at Blue Points Marina today, to encourage and enlighten children ages 7-12 into the art and love of fishing.
Children were asked to complete the skills clinic necessary to understand the basics of preparation, strategy, angler ethics and proper catch-and-release practices before they were handed rods with reels and began their fishing efforts. (see photos)
A donation of $10.00 per child was requested for the clinic and fishing experience, and went to benefit the Anglers for Conservation, a non-profit corporation based in Satellite Beach, FL. Anglers for Conservation’s mission is to support and promote long term fishing programs for youth in our Florida cities, counties and state.
“Handler Fishing Supply has always supported educational seminars for children and adults, so when I was asked by the event organizer and planner, Shellie Sevor (of the Rendezvous), to help facilitate the clinic it was an easy decision. I’ve been fishing Brevard my whole life and this was a great opportunity, alongside Rendezvous, to be able to share my wealth of experience with these young anglers and their families”, said Adrian Martinez.
The community turnout was good, spirits were high and the successful event will likely spawn more interest into fishing Brevard’s beautiful waters and new family traditions.
